We are Lynn and Stephanie Baudo, mother-daughter owners of Cutest Kids Consignment. Anyone who knows us will tell you we both have a busy social lifestyle, while working our full-time jobs, and Stephanie pursuing her nursing degree. What made us open a cute children’s resale store located in the heart of Oak Creek Wisconsin?
In 2008 we were introduced to children’s resale stores while looking for baby items for “Aryella”, the little miracle who changed our lives. We were hooked and having so much fun, that we thought it would be great to open our own place.
The initial concept was simple: create a colorful, fun, well-organized, and convenient way for parents to make money on items that were in good condition that their children had outgrown and where shoppers could purchase cute fashionable clothes, age appropriate toys and equipment at affordable prices.
Our exciting venture started with the location, it was ideal, as there was nothing similar in the area. The space was vacant and being family owned, the rent was right, so we had nothing to lose. We took everything we loved about other resale shops and added a few of our own ideas. Stephanie’s boyfriend designed and painted the adorable mural that makes the interior of the store so cute and colorful.
It took a year to acquire the inventory that we needed before opening. We wanted consigners and shoppers to know the pricing and quality of merchandise we offered. At the end of a busy day, we would be anxious to look over our great finds. Everything was so cute; we would always say that the people who shopped at our store would have the cutest kids, as a result the name “Cutest Kids Consignment”.
We are pleased with the positive comments we have received since we started the business in June of 2009. We feel that we are a welcomed addition to the community, providing a friendly neighborhood shop for parents and grandparents looking for brand name clothes, shoes, dancewear, toys, videos, strollers, changing tables, high chairs, exersaucers and joggers.
